A Natural History of the Senses, Diane Ackerman, p.101 Statement: I was inspired by this part of the reading to sketch a small self-portrait of myself in space. This quote made me think about the uncertainties and unknowns of life, similar to those of the vast universe we exist in. I imagined floating through open space, and the feeling of letting go of control. The various obstacles we face in our day to day existence are what shape our experiences and help us grow, and our skin is all that physically protects us from the outside world.
